Hi, recently I was having problems with my 2950 and replaced the
controller.
When I replaced the controller all went well and the controller took the
HD's Raid 5 configuration without any issues.
I just had drive 0:0:0 fail about three weeks ago and last night I
finally
removed that drive and replaced it with a working HD. I am running raid
5
with a hot spare and when 0:0:0 failed 1:0:5 took over, see logs below.
When replacing the drive last night I shut the server down removed the
failed drive and inserted the good working drive in its place, when I
rebooted it gave me a foreign error and said if I proceeded I would lose
my
configuration. So I removed the drive restarted the server, pressed
control
+ R, inserted the new drive and refreshed. Once I saw drive 0:0:0 I made
it
a global hotspare which went to state ready. I'm assuming I did this
correctly.
Now the other problem is that when I press control + R and go into the
perc
configuration the raid setup is showing up as optimal. However when I
boot
the server into linux and do a omreport I get,
