Hi!,
At my office I have a PowerEdge 1400SC, at the time I bought it came
with a 3 disks RAID-5. It worked ok, but now we are trying to add one
IDE disk(as the server motherboard came with an optional IDE port).
So... after we connected the disk, the server couldn't boot...
obvious, there's no OS installed on the new disk. If I disconnect the
IDE disk, the machine can boot again. I tried to find some
configuration on the BIOS about this but didn't find anything helpful.
any advice?
thanks in advance,
regards,

Hi Eduardo,
There are multiple revisions of the 1400SC motherboard and you seem to
have one of the older ones, that do not support IDE HDD's
