Hello,
All disk space is currently allocated to logical volumes and I need to increase
the size of one LV. It is a possibility to reduce the size of one or
several of the other LV's, but It will still be hard to get as much
free space as desired, and will require downtime.
I know it could be possible to change the disks to bigger ones in the
RAID1 set one at a time, like this:
1. Change disk 1 to 146 GB
2. wait for the PERC to copy data from disk 2 to disk 1
3. Change disk 2 to 146 GB
4. wait for the PERC to copy data from disk 1 to disk 2.
But, will the additional capacity in the RAID1 set be available to RHEL
immediately or is a reboot or other configuration required?
What kind of risks do you think this operation causes?
Thanks,
Erling
