jumbo frames on PowerEdge R300

Hi,

I want to enable jumbo frames on the PowerEdge R300 by increasing the MTU size, but it won't go above 1500 bytes.
Can anyone confirm that these NICs lack support for jumbo frames?
I would certainly prefer not to buy additional NICs for a dozen brand new R300s.

I am running kernel 2.6.24.5 and dmesg says:
