M600 disk serial numbers

I have some M600 blades and would like to be able to store the serial 
numbers of the disks for inventory tracking purposes.

The mpt-status command gives me the model number and the manufacturer 
but I can't get the serial number out.

If the disks are directly attached (i.e. no RAID), I get it with 
smartctl but once they are in a RAID, the information gets hiddenm.

Any ideas ?
