RAID5 or RAID50 for database?

This thread gets more bizarre as it goes along.  Of course you need only
three drives for a RAID5, you're probably intending to be talking about
RAID50.  And technically, you could have a three drive RAID50, built from
three single-drive RAID0's.  Gratuitous, but possible.
