Hi list,
Starting today we seem to have a serious issue with one of our PE2950's
equipped with two PERC5/E's (each channel connected to a MD1000; each
MD1000 is configured as RAID5).
We are unable to write on the filesystem (xfs) and see the following
message from omsa:
megasas: Failed to copy out to user sense data
This is what happens:
# mkdir test
mkdir: cannot create directory `test': No space left on device
# df .
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/sde 12690780160 12637639416 53140744 100% /mnt
# df -i .
Filesystem Inodes IUsed IFree IUse% Mounted on
/dev/sde 212852896 289920 212562976 1% /mnt
xfs_repair didn't find anything it could fix.
The issue isn't caused by removed open files.
I've started a consistency check to see if that might help, but this
check will take a lot of time. Before i started the consistency check,
the raid status was optimal.
I don't know what the error "Failed to copy out to user sense data" means.
Some background information:
OS: Debian Etch, problem started on 2.6.24.14, now upgraded to 2.6.25.3
PERC5 Firmware Version : 5.2.1-0066
PERC5 Driver Version : 00.00.03.16-rc1
Openmanage (port from my neighbour Sara (thank you Sara!)) and MegaCli
are installed.
Can this be caused by a broken PERC5/E?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
-Patrick
