Hard Drive firmware updates through Yum repo?

Absolutely, positively, completely impossible.

The HDD firmware update process must occur while "offline." The update
process effectively removes each disk from any RAID array for the period
of the update (about 45 sec.) during which time it downloads the FW to
the drive, updates the FW and tests to ensure that the drive is still
functional. To do this "online" would virtually guarantee that there was
data corruption or  data loss.

Subject: Hard Drive firmware updates through Yum repo?

Hi List,

Is it possible to update the actual hard drive firmware through an RPM
from Yum? We're being told that we need to update the firmware on a
bunch of drives with the following update:

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&
releaseid=R174948&SystemID=PWV_MD1000&servicetag=&os=WNET&osl=en&devicei
d=10167&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=2&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=2&libid=
44&fileid=238853

We've already got the System bios, PERC firmware, etc. being updated
through yum, through the dell-firmware repo.
