PE2900 too noisy for office?

I've put a 2900 with 4 x 15k RPM disks in a home office environment and it
is noisy.  It's loud enough to annoy me, but I'm not the one sitting
beside it (that's reserved for somebody with notoriously bad hearing :-|)

If you stick it under a desk and try dampening the sound as much as
possible (blocking it off as much as possible without compromising
airflow, surround it with egg-cartons, buy a small sound-proof data
cabinet, etc) it's probably do-able.  Likewise, extended KVM cables that
allow you place the server a few metres away would also help.
