The card doesn't support SATA drives unless they are SATAII, so if they
came shipped to you from Dell. They will work.

Subject: 2950/Perc 6i/SATA running Centos 5
I just got a 2950 III in with a Perc 6i Integrated Controller, and an
array of SATA drives. I haven't loaded the OS yet - I've been reading
and trying to get all the driver disks lined up, etc. I've read in a
couple places that the RHEL 5 driver for the Perc 6i won't support SATA
drives - that they have to be SATAII or SAS? Can anyone either confirm
or deny this and set my mind at ease?
Many Thanks,
Tom
