JBOD mode on MegaRAID?

Richard,

What type of controller did you purchase with the PE2900? If it is a
PERC adapter you must follow the example below of creating several
single disk RAID-0 arrays. If you purchased a SAS6 controller all
unconfigured disks (not in a mirror or a stripe) are presented forward
to the OS for use.

I just purchased a PowerEdge 2900 III and I'm wondering if I might have 
the same problem.

My intention was to forgo the hardware RAID and simply use software RAID

provided by Debian Etch.  Am I correct in assuming that I'll need to do 
some special configuration at the hardware RAID level to present the 
disks to the OS in a native fashion?
