Failure alerts

I'm having trouble understanding the difference in the Dell server 
software offerings.

I'm currently using OMSA v5.3 -- I see where one can view the status of 
the server and make some changes via the web interface.

I would like to add email alerts upon certain types of failures - disks, 
fans, processors, etc. I found a tutorial that showed how to do this in 
Dell IT Assistant, however I can't find that software for Ubuntu/Debian, 
my server OS.

Is there a method of setting alerts using OMSA or should I be using some 
different software?
