Monitoring temperature on a PowerEdge 750

Hello,

Power Edge 750 has an IPMI interface only when it has a DRAC III/XT
(ESM4 PCI Card).
This uses the SMIC interface. You should be able to get the IPMI service
up and running with this card inside your system which would help you to
monitor your CPU temperature using IPMI tool.

Thanks
Srinivas.

Subject: Monitoring temperature on a PowerEdge 750

Hi all!

We have a Dell PowerEdge 750 running Fedora 8, and we would like to
monitor the cpu temperature.

We have installed OpenIPMI but the ipmi_si driver fails to load.

Also dmidecode does not list an IPMI device.

Does the PowerEdge 750 have an IPMI interface? How can I activate it?

Is there another way to monitor the cpu temperature?

All replies are greatly appreciated.

With kind regards
