Can't reboot after Debian update

Just to bring this thread to a close, I tried a bunch of things, trying
to boot from the old kernel, but had no success. I could boot it under
Knoppix 5.1 and it saw all the disks and partitions fine. I decided to
boot it normally one last time, thinking it would stop at the same
error, and walked away from it in our server room, and went back to my
desk to write more emails asking for further help.

Imagine my surprise when I started getting diagnostic emails from this
host. I went back into the server room, where I discovered that this
host had fixed itself and booted successfully. Wow, this Dell hardware
is something else.

This is the same host that I wrote about previously in
http://lists.us.dell.com/pipermail/linux-poweredge/2008-May/036318.html.
It reports a +5v backplane voltage below threshold four or more times a
day. I'm guessing I just booted it the last time when it was above the
threshold and it worked. This host has worked with this condition since
May, but I don't think I'm going to be rebooting it any time soon.

Thanks for the help and suggestions.

-Kevin

Does booting the old kernel work? It should be in the list!
