<ESC><Ctrl><E> for Baseboard management doesn't work.

List,
I have a bunch of 1950's in a headless configuration. I have console
access to them, and need to change the IPMI IP address but I can't get
<ESC>+<ctrl-e> or <ESC>+<CTRL>+<E> to let me into the baseboard
management controller on boot. <ESC><2> lets me into the bios just
fine, and <ESC>+<CTRL-R> also lets me into the raid controller bios.
Thinking this might be a bug I upgraded the bios to 2.3.1 but that
causes it to display a bunch of ANSI trash on the screen right in the
middle of posting.
I've tried both ANSI and VT100. I've also tried minicom on linux
directly connected via null modem cable as well as telnet to a serial
console switch.
At this point I don't see any way to make this work. Anyone at dell
have any ideas how I can get into the baseboard controller without
hooking up a VGA/keyboard console to each one?
Thanks,
schu
