We've just upgraded flawlessy a PE SC1420 to etch. Kernel version: 
vanilla 2.6.25.4 (compiled).
I don't know about SC1425, perhaps the hardware is quite the same. Our 
server has a CERC SATA 6ch in RAID5 configuration.
