Connectivity Issue

I would like to get some advice on a connectivity issue I am having with a
Poweredge 905 connecting to a Cisco router.

We have a Cisco GSR GigE port conneting to the poweredge. Since the GigE
port on the router is LC we have a multimode LC-SC fiber cable going to a
media converter to convert it to RJ45. From the media converter its a
straight thru cat 5 going to the Dell Poweredge server.

I have checked the light levels and the cat 5 and activated the gigE port on
the Dell but the link is not coming up. The interface is showing down on the
router (down/down).

Any ideas or things that I should look for?
