Hi List,

i have a default installed RHEL 5 without service pack.
In the default Installation no SNMP rpm's were installed.

Rhel 5 runs in a Virtual Machine on a PE 6800.

Now I install additionally:

lm_sensors-2.10.0-3-1.i386.rpm
net-snmp-5-3-1-24.el5.i386.rpm
net-snmp-utils-5-3-1-24.el5.i386.rpm

Now I start the service with:

Etc/init.d/snmpd start => ok

Now

Etc/init.d/snmpd status => snmpd dead but pid file exists (I delete the
pid file and try it again => the same)

Anyone who can tell me what is going wrong here?
Some tests which I can do, some hints what I can check?

Thx in advance.
