Detecting Dell Hardware -

I use either Dell or HP kit and i want to have common kickstarts that 
only install the vendor monitoring tools on the specific machines.

Its easy with Dell as if its not a supported system, ie Dell!!, then it 
fails to install but annoyingly the HP software will install on non HP kit.

Does anyone know a trick to detect if its Dell or something else ? Would 
IPMI do this somehow? We use Centos/RHEL 4 and 5
