Hi there.
I have a problem with PowerEdge 4400 equiped with two P3 Xeon 866Mhz
CPUs. I just both 8x512MB PC133 ECC-R and installed it in my server.
BIOS claims that there is 4096MB RAM installed on the system which I
believe to be true. Moreover in
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/pe4400/en/ug/techspec.htm
we read that it supports up to 4GB. Unfortunately both mpmemory and my
linux claim that there is only 3.5GB memory in the system. In dmesg we read:
Linux version 2.6.16.45-1smp (builder at aksjomat) (gcc version 3.3.6 (PLD
Linux)) #1 SMP Wed Mar 28 03:22:39 CEST 2007
BIOS-provided physical RAM map:

2687MB HIGHMEM available.
896MB LOWMEM available.

My question is : _WTF_??_ Is there way to force linux to use 4GB? Should
I recompile the kernel or maybe change some option in setup menu??
Thanks in advance for any help.
Best regards.
