Are DRAC5 Firefox plugins supposed to work?

I have some new PE1950s and I'm trying to get the DRAC virtual console
to work with Firefox. It works OK with IE7.

I'm following the instructions at

http://support2.jp.dell.com/docs/software/smdrac3/drac5/OM5.1/en/ug/racugad.htm

and the install of rac5vkvm.xpi fails with various errors on both
Windows "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.11)
Gecko/20071127 Firefox/2.0.0.11" and Solaris 10 (ick) "Mozilla/5.0
(X11; U; SunOS sun4u; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20061024 Firefox/2.0"

"Firefox could not install the file at [etc] because: Cancelled -227

Is the XPI supposed to work?
