Dell SUU and failing firmware updates

I'm booting some PowerEdge 2650 servers (five of them) from the Dell 
Software Update Utility CD and into the linux-based GUI.  From there I'm 
getting it to query an NFS mount of the OM SUU DVD v5.3 for firmware updates 
for PERC, BIOS, ESM etc.

All of my servers are at BIOS A20 but their ESM/DRACs are at v2.20.  Every 
time I try to update the BIOS and the ESM/DRAC the application says the DUPs 
have been downloaded and installed but on reboot nothing has changed.  I 
don't have Utility Partitions on the hard drives.

Suggestions please?  What am I doing wrong?
