That system was never meant for anything but SCSI. There is no way to
have it work without the backplane and attached daughtercard.

Subject: Converting a PE 2550 from SCSI to SATA
Hello,
I am trying to convert an old PE 2550 to SATA so I can get more disk and
not pay SCSI prices. In order to make room to be able to plug in the
drives I had to remove the SCSI back plane. The server didn't really
like that too much:
!!*****Invalid SCSI configuration, primary daughtercard not
detected*****
!!*****System halted!*****
Is there a way to get around this? A utility to allow mw to change the
config? Or some jumpers I can set??
Thanks,
Rick
