OT: Vmware on R200 server

I know i'll probably have to resort to the vmware lists for this. However, does anyone have experience of running vmware on a r200 with linux (centos5) as both host os and guest os (both 64 bit) and managed to sort the time syncing problem? In particular any bios settings that need changing? I've already enabled VT in bios to allow me to use 64 bit guests

I've tried the usual tricks of clock=pit or notsc and using vmtools to try and keep it in sync but no luck. Drift is about 1 min in 5 mins. I'm guessing this would probably show same symptoms on redhat or fedora..
