Andy,

Make sure you have net-snmp netsnmp-utils installed and snmp daemon running before installing the openmanage tools... Otherwise will need to manually edit snmpd.conf file to add it

OMSA also provides server monitoring for the things such as fans, procs,
memory, DRAC, BMC, etc. that don't fall into the RAID space. An
additional part of that package is a web based GUI that can be safely
removed if you don't want it.

Subject: monitoring Perc5 hw raid controller under Debian

I'm looking for any suggest to implement a raid monitor (failure/
rebuild) on DELL server 1950 and 2950 with Perc5 under Debian GNU/
Linux (Etch).
An email alert would be already something! :)
I found a tools box named OMSA on the net. There is a Debian OMSA
package by Pauli Borodulin (http://www.uta.fi/~pauli.borodulin/
dellomsa/), but I don't test it yet.
90 megabyte package for a raid/system monitoring tool. Is it real?!
Can this software help me?

Every suggestion is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
