Subject: raid/perc monitoring
Howdy,
If anyone knows of a way to search this list I would appreciate it.
I haven't found a search tool. Thumbing through each month thread by
thread kinda sucks!
So, my question is, i'm looking to monitor drives in my RAID array on
remote servers.
I have 1850s, 1950s and 2850s. All with some PERC controller. I have
mostly SAS drives,
but also some SCSI.
I've been looking around recently and i'm seeing a lot of stuff.
Megactl, ipmi, omsa, LSI msm, etc, etc.
I don't know which is best, and I'm looking to run something on
Gentoo. If I just had
a command I could run daily, then I could email to myself. Simple
enough.
But i am not sure what the best option is.
I tried to load megactl yesterday and got this error:
unable to open device /dev/megaraid_sas_ioctl_node: No such file or
directory
I also tried to install this ebuild of omsa but ended up getting stuck
on it as well.
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113235
Is there something simple i'm missing, or something specific for
gentoo I can't find?
thanks
Brad B.
