There is no way to disable the onboard video on the server systems. For
maximum video performance a workstation class machine is the way to go.

Subject: PE1600 && PE1800 Disabling Onboard Video
Good morning Gents,
I've got several PE1600's and PE1800's running Fedora Core 3 and Fedora
Core 5 that I need to get a little more video performance out of! I
purchased a PCI nVidia card and dropped it in but the onboard video is
not disabling itself automatically. Is there a way to disable the
onboard video on either of these machines???
The nVidia card is working and, is recognized by the OS(es) as a second
video card and will cheerfully talk to a second monitor. But, because
of the form factor of my systems, using a second monitor isn't an
option. I need the onboard video disabled so that the nVidia graphics
is the only display on the system.
In case anyone is wondering, this works fine on the PE1400's. Drop in a
PCI video card, onboard video disables itself, life is good!
I was in chat with a Dell support rep this morning who told me he does
not believe there is a way to disable the onboard video on the 1600's or
the 1800's; but, I have a hard time believing that.
Thanks,
-brian
