'ipmitool sel elist' instead of 'list' (note the leading 'e') is
also worth a view.
You can also read individual sensors like this:
ipmitool sensor get "PROC Fan"
(Yeah, unfortunately with ipmitool, you need to use sensor names
rather than IDs :-/).
IIRC there are also Nagios monitoring plugins for IPMI sensors...

Maybe just google for 'nagios ipmi' :)
