  You have to install MegaCli first. After that, I would suggest you the follwing settings. 

  MegaCli -LDSetProp WB -LALL -aALL 
  MegaCli -LDSetProp cached -LALL -aALL 
  MegaCli -LDSetProp ADRA -LALL -aALL 
  MegaCli -LDSetProp NoCacheBadBBU -LALL -aALL 
  MegaCli -LDSetProp EnDskCache -LALL -aALL 
  MegaCli -LDInfo -LALL -aALL

  i am testing two Pe 1950 with 2x 143 Gb Sas hard disk and Perc 5 controller, why i get a so slow test? i need to enable something on the controller? 
    
  root at zeus ~]# hdparm -Tt /dev/sda 
    
  /dev/sda:
  Timing cached reads:   9720 MB in  2.00 seconds = 4867.20 MB/sec
  Timing buffered disk reads:  208 MB in  3.59 seconds =  57.99 MB/sec 
  root at avalos [~]# hdparm -Tt /dev/sda 
    
  /dev/sda:
  Timing cached reads:   1340 MB in  2.06 seconds = 650.27 MB/sec
  Timing buffered disk reads:  142 MB in  3.48 seconds =  40.76 MB/sec 
    
  my vps on Pe2950 is more fast :( 
    
  -bash-3.1# hdparm -Tt /dev/sda1 
    
  /dev/sda1:
  Timing cached reads:   12876 MB in  2.00 seconds = 6445.96 MB/sec
  Timing buffered disk reads:  428 MB in  3.01 seconds = 142.30 MB/sec
  -bash-3.1# hdparm -Tt /dev/sda1
