How often have you had to service your fans, power supplies, and hard drives?
I've had hundreds of systems in production and it is a fairly rare event, in my
experience. Also, good server class towers will allow you to swap hard drives
and power supplies in the same way that a rack mounted system will. I'm not
trying to say you're making the wrong decision, but you seem to be making it
based on incorrect information. Take a look at the PowerEdge 2900, for example.
