BogoMIPS doesn't tell you _anything_ about performance. Thatswhy these
are called *Bogo*MIPS. Look at SPECint or SPECfp, depending on your
workload: What do your servers do? Would they benefit form multiple
cores? Running "make -j4" for Linux kernel compiles is only a useful
benchmark if the machines will be used for compiling Linux kernels, it
might be a good estimate if the machines will be used as a build farm.
Also be sure whether your applications are more I/O or CPU bound.
