BCM5721 and jumbo frames (PowerEdge R200)

The Product specs of the 5721 do not state that it supports jumbo frames
(http://www.broadcom.com/collateral/pb/5721-PB00-R.pdf), however the specs of
the 5703S and some other low 57xx models do say that they support jumbo frames
(http://websearch.broadcom.com/query.html?qt=jumbo+frames+%7C+%22CONTROLLER+WITH
+INTEGRATED+TRANSCEIVER%22&col=www&charset=iso-8859-1).

It might be better to drop Broadcom an email ;)

Hi,

according to the Dell site
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/network/P29352/English/features.htm#featur
es
the BCM5721 network adapters do support jumbo frames.

Interestingly, Fujitsu-Siemens says, the don't:
http://manuals.fujitsu-siemens.com/serverbooks/content/manuals/html/broadcom/net
xtreme_57xx/bacs.htm

I fail to set the interfaces MTU to any value larger than 1500
(kernel 2.6.23) -- the error is "SIOCSIFMTU: Invalid argument".

So please Dell folks, can you *definitely* tell whether the BCM5721
adapters do support jumbo frames or not?

TIA.
