Systems build and update utility CD Ver 5.3 and ver 5.4 supports only
SLES10 and does not support SLES10-SP2.
For manual installation of SLES, you can refer to the SLES installation
documents available at : http://www.novell.com/documentation/sles10/
If you want to upgrade to SLES10-SP2 after installing SLES10 from the
Systems build and update utility CD, you will have to first upgrade to
SLES10-SP1 and then to SLES10-SP2. Below is the note available on the
SLES doc available at :
http://www.novell.com/documentation/sles10/sles_admin/index.html?page=/d
ocumentation/sles10/sles_admin/data/cha_upgrade.html
" You can only update to Service Pack 2, if Service Pack 1 is fully
installed beforehand. If this is not already the case, update to Service
Pack 1 first as outlined in SUSE Linux Enterprise GA to SP1 and SP2."

Subject: SLES 10 SP2 64bit on a 2950
Hi all
I have searched and i'm not having any luck
My problem is the systems build and update utility Cd Ver 5.3
will not accept the SLES 10 SP2 64bit DVD it wants the
SLES10 DVD ?
The second problem is Ver 5.3 does not support volume groups
1. does anyone know if Ver 5.4 will support SP2 ?
2. is there a supported and documented way to install
suse with all the correct drivers manually
3. would installing SLES 10 with the systems build and update utility cd
then upgrading to SP2 be an option ?
any help or comments would be appreciated
Regards Jayson
