When running the card with the latest firmware I found the card
only worked with the old megaraid driver. But if you backed up
one revision, it works with the current driver (or was it 2
revisions ?).

The only issue was when you backup a rev, you are limited to
drives under 130ish gig (non LBA48 ?).

I actually worked on compiling the old megaraid driver and did
get it working on a box, however it didn't always work properly
so I abandoned that idea.

Figuring out why the new megaraid driver doesn't see logical
drives (i could get it to see the controller, just no logical
drives) would have been ideal, but I don't have the time to get
that 'deep'.

I'm not sure why this card was 'abandoned'... and even more unsure
why nobody 'picked it up'. Seems one LSI 'orphaned' it... it was
doomed.

I've never tried that. I don't know what you'd get.

If you don't need large drive support, use one or two revs down
from the latest firmware (downgrade one rev at a time till it
works).
