there is another error, too:

ERROR: 'dell-hw-specific-repository' is not a valid catalog.

this is caused by the fact that sles 10 just accepts signed installation
sources but the dell repository is unsigend. as a simple workaround one
can downgrade the security level by

"rug set-prefs security-level checksum"
