Finding new fiber tape drives (like devfsadm?)

Hello,

I have a Dell 1950 running RHEL 4 64bit.  I have a LSI Logic HBA in
it, which is connected to a SAN, then to a series of fiber tape drives
(IBM drives).

What would be the commands to scan for new devices, so that the OS
recognizes the drives?  I know in Solaris it was 'devfsadm'
