Easiest way to remotely get a service tag?

Also previously mentioned in this list was this method (if you dont need 
the express service tag and just the serial):

dmidecode | awk --posix '/Serial Number: [A-Z,0-9]{7}/{print $3; exit}'

No dell utilities needed.
