I developed a bigbrother raid monitoring module based on the mpt-status someone
posted about earlier this year:

http://www.drugphish.ch/~ratz/mpt-status/

This util works a lot like the raidctl in Solaris:

[root at esx-04 fcocquyt]# /usr/sbin/mpt-status

ioc0 vol_id 0 type IM, 2 phy, 698 GB, state DEGRADED, flags ENABLED
RESYNC_IN_PROGRESS
ioc0 phy 1 scsi_id 32 ATA ST3750640NS E , 698 GB, state ONLINE,
flags NONE
ioc0 phy 0 scsi_id 1 ATA ST3750640NS E , 698 GB, state ONLINE, flags
OUT_OF_SYNC

I pulled a drive to test the BB module and the resyncing status is reported
properly once its replaced

thanks
