Can't reset foreign drive in Open Manage

Patrick,
Thank you! -- I hadn't noticed the "Information/Configuration"
option under the Properties tab is deselected by default when the
controller is selected (interestingly, the 'Health' option appears
and takes priority). Your information made me look much more
carefully at the tiny lettering elsewhere on the screen.
I now have the drive online -- and my adrenaline level is back to
normal.
Can you tell me how to unmount the drive, without creating the
"foreign" condition again? I tried "reconfigure" but I'm getting a
"Virtual disk 1 reconfigure error." And there's no offline option.
It's a single disk, RAID 0, which I wanted to use as an offsite
backup for some critical files. I'd like to be able to insert &
remove the drive for an occasional update without having to restart
the system, and without compromising the disk content.
Thanks,
Ken
