RHEL 4 and FC 4 use different kernels so no, this won't work. Your best
bet is probably to build your own driver disk using a FC 4 kernel on
another machine.

Subject: MegaRAID Driver on Fedora Core 4

I'm trying to load Fedora Core 4 on a Dell PowerEdge 1950.
FC4 does not have support for the megaraid_sas. FC6 works fine however
I must run FC4 due to customer requirements.

I've booted FC4 with 'linux dd' and tried to supply the RHEL4 megaraid
driver
IMG which I downloaded from Dells support site. The install tells me it
can't
mount the driver IMG (megaraid_sas-v00.00.03.09-1-rhel40-all.img).

Will the megaRAID_sas driver built for RHEL4 work on Fedora Core 4?
If it should work any ideas why the Fedora installer complains about
not being able to mount the IMG? I put the img files on a USB drive,
the installer see's the USB and I can select the IMG, so I'm sure
the USB is formatted OK.

Thank you.
