A general rsync question

Also, if you look for an alternative to rsync, I'd suggest star (pipe one
instance into the other). Works very well too, and doesn't really care
what filesystem you're on, as long as the filesystem supports some minimum of 
functionality (fat won't cut it, ntfs may not either).
