Is there a distro-independent version of OpenManage?

There are people running openmanage on different platforms, or using the
ipmi stuff: but we also use the DRAC interfaces for monitoring our
systems. They can send out alerts by mail if something fails, even on
raid issues for instance.
It keeps the hardware monitoring really more separate from the operating
system itself, and access to the console can be really out of band
(while the IPMI over LAN stuff is sharing an interface, which is also
worse in security point of view, I think).
The DRAC interfaces use a bit of power, cost you a bit, but for us
that's worth it. And it doesn't really matter anymore what kind of OS
you're using.
