Upgrading firmware and BIOS without Windows/Redhat/Floppy

indeed and also you can use the MEMDISK method and then make your 
grub.conf looks something like

title Boot Floppy Image 180
                kernel /MEMDISK
                initrd /floppy-180.img

title Boot Floppy Image 191
                kernel /MEMDISK
                initrd /floppy-191.img

of course you would use the floppy image relevant to the one you are 
trying to boot - I have used this method many times on remote boxes 
where i need to boot from floppy
