All,
As the maintainer of the unofficial Dell yum repository
(http://linux.dell.com/repo/hardware), I have noticed that we have had
many customers develop their own solutions for things like:
-- raid monitoring (megacli, etc)
-- system monitoring plugins things like nagios/etc.
-- scripts to interface from openmanage to nagios/etc.
-- openipmi interface Dell-specific stuff.
I would like to know if anybody is interested in contributing RPMs
with these things to the unofficial repository for easier use by other
customers.
If there is interest in this, there are quite a few details to work
out, such as the submission process, security/digital signatures,
support for different OS, etc. But if it is worthwhile, I have support
from my management to work on something like this.
So, I'd like to start a discussion the list to get people's feedback
on this idea.
