Hello Giorgi,

You will want to try the 'dmidecode' command as root. It gives you a bunch
of BIOS information, including the asset tag, if it is set. It always
gives you the service tag.

Hi,

just a quick question: how to write the asset tags on PE 2950, 1950, 860
using
Gnu/Linux? Dell instructions forward to a Windows utility, but under
Gnu/Linux?

Thanks a lot for you help.
