Dell joins Novell deal ...

In all fairness and like most seeping politics, this actually *is* a
longer-term technical issue that we probably will need to deal with in our
budgets or our toolkits - perhaps in the near future. Frankly, I'm very
worried about our Red Hat installations now.
While I know that practically, this is not a rant-forum, I'm seriously
wondering what Microsoft has anything to do with Linux announcements
mentioning words like "indemnification" and "assurance" and other hints
reportedly made by parties to the deal. Afterall, at least one of these
companies quietly financed the SCO debacle that attempted to squeeze dollars
out of my technical budget while working to discredit the work or our
developers as intellectual theft.
To be fair, perhaps Dell should have a forum where these questions can be
addressed in a format other than the pages of Fortune Magazine, Slash Dot, or
this technical forum.
Thanks.
