These messages in /var/log/messages are there because your system does not have an IPMI controller. On the PE750 you need the ERA/O add on card for this to work.
Mar 21 09:07:28 lexcpdsync01 kernel: IPMI System Interface driver.
Mar 21 09:07:28 lexcpdsync01 kernel: ipmi_si: Trying "kcs" at I/O port 0xca2
Mar 21 09:07:28 lexcpdsync01 kernel: ipmi_si: Trying "smic" at I/O port 0xca9
Mar 21 09:07:28 lexcpdsync01 kernel: ipmi_si: Trying "bt" at I/O port 0xe4
Mar 21 09:07:28 lexcpdsync01 kernel: ipmi_si: Unable to find any System Interface(s)

Since you do not have an ERA/O you should not install the rac packages that complain about /etc/rc.d/init.d/functions.
Do " rpm -e srvadmin-rac* "

If you manually installed all the rpm's from http://linux.dell.com/repo/software/sles10/srvadmin-5.1.0/ then I suggest that you erase them all from your system.
Then download this package: http://ftp.us.dell.com/sysman/OM_5.1_ManNode_LIN_A00.tar.gz

Extract it and run the "srvadmin-install.sh" script in the .../supportscrips/ folder.
