Firmware repository: http://linux.dell.com/repo/firmware
Documentation: http://linux.dell.com/wiki/index.php/Repository/firmware
Status: BETA! Online w/issues (see below)
News: This is the former "fwupdate.com" repository. We have gotten
permission to allow public access to this repository from
linux.dell.com. This is where it has always lived, but access was
restricted such that only the fwupdate.com site could mirror it.
This site hosts bios updates in firmware-tools format for Dell systems.
This is BETA software, community-supported only. Use at your own risk,
etc.
If you have already subscribed to the old fwupdate.com repository, there
is a new "dell-firmware-repository" RPM that obsoletes the old
"fwupdate-repository" RPM. If you use 'yum' to upgrade, this will happen
automatically and your system will be updated to point at the
linux.dell.com version. If you use 'up2date' you will need to manually
"up2date -u dell-firmware-repository" to get up2date to install the new
RPM.
We will likely turn off the fwupdate.com repository sometime by the end
of the year.
Current issues:
-- BMC images are posted even though the bmc flash utility is not in
the software repository. (It is currently eating systems and so has not
been posted.)
-- extract script is having problems:
-- Not all bios images are updated to release -16. Currently
investigating reason.
-- Not all PERC firmware images have been updated to latest release.
Currently under investigation. (extract script is having problems)
