  That is not entirely true.  It's just a pain in the ass to make it
work.  Lots of people running linux on the intel based macs use lilo.
Not to mention the ia64 linux users using elilo.  It's just really
really painful if your OS doesn't do it all automagically...

  The easy solution is to create 2 logical drives in the perc5's setup
in the bios.  Make one as big as you want /boot, and / to be.  The 2nd
can be as big as you want.  Install on to the 1st logical drive, reboot,
and fire up parted on the second logical drive.  Do a "mklabel gpt", and
create all your new partitions.....  Then edit /etc/fstab.  See
