poweredge 1850 setup tips

Hi to everyone,

 

We’ve just purchased 5 x used poweredge 1850

Each has 

2 x 3.4Ghx Xeon

8G RAM

2 x 73G SCSI 15k drives

 

2 will be running Debian and MySQL 5.0 (80% reads)

3 will be running Debian and Apache 1.3/modperl

 

We would appreciate any input into 

 

32 / 64 bit OS choice?

 

and

 

RAID Disc controller? They have not shipped with a raid controller so can we
go with an onboard solution if there is any or can a PERC card solution be
recommended for optimal speed.

 

And

 

RAID configuration? Toying between RAID0 or RAID1.
